that moment when you realize that you've known your friend Cass for longer than you've known anyone you regularly associate with that isn't family. 3 sexuality realizations, 1 gender change, numberous AIM screen names and 15 years of friendship.

They’re moving to toronto and i can’t wait to go visit.

jambos6 replied to your post: i hate that it’s such a pain in the ass to screen cap on a mac.

I just use Command+Shift+4 to screencap a selection or Command+Shift+3 to do a full screencap… and I think there’s a similar shortcut to screencap your current window, but I don’t remember what it is at the moment.

this, and other suggestions from people. Helpful! But also, WHy isn’t there just a print screen button? :P

I’m not going to lie, as much as i’ve enjoyed owning a mac in the past, i’m pretty ok with my PC right now. it’s comfortable, i know it. I know what to expect from its shortcomings - plus i already own it so i don’t have to spend any more moneys on it.

Maybe if i win the lotto i can afford to enjoy the aesthetics of macintosh.

velocicrafter replied to your post: i don’t always want to talk about serious things. sometimes i just want to invite beth ditto over for a janet jackson dance party and tacos. I like how you assume she likes tacos cuz she’s fat. Way to be fat shame, Dabeed! >

Um, No. ~*I*~ like tacos. If she’s a gracious guest she’ll eat them politely, but if she’s the bff of my dreams i’ve always imagined her to be, she’ll be just as stoked on them as me.

Can we start a new slang phrase? Can we call it "Gaga-ing" somebody when you shamelessly borrow from someone's previous successes?
  • “She totally gaga’d my fascinator from the derby party last year!”
  • “He totally gaga’d my rhyme scheme!”
  • “They totally gaga’d my halloween costume from last year!”

Lets make this happen.

what's the busiest time of year for you boys?

every time is busy lately :/ unfortuantely.

the holidays can get a little crazy cus duncan’s family has a whole bunch of different things @_@ but there’s also a month where a bunch of duncan’s family have birthdays, too. My family lives far from here, so they rarely busy me.

Summer can get a little crazy too, simply because people are doing more things, so there’s more shows, more events, etc etc.

I love your views on media, and your general view on everything. It's great to have something intelligent to read on my dash. Also, something enlightening. Broadening horizons that I had never even bothered to consider, or notice (for lack of better terms).

i appreciate getting messages like this, particularly amongst the random hatemail. Thank you :)

I don't understand why people don't see the need to be critical of things around them. Criticism isn't negative, necessarily. You shouldn't just let the things around you - news, music, television shows, movies, politicians, your idols - pass you by without leveling a critical eye at them. Your ability to look at things critically makes you a participant in popular culture and society as a whole, and not just a drone who fills space. Being critical of the things around you isn't a bad thing - you're asking more and better from everything, and that's a good thing. That's part of how society improves, that's part of how things get better. If you refuse to question anything because people tell you stupid shit like "You're just looking for things to complain about" or "God, you're such a victim" THAT'S when you beecome a victim. Don't let them confuse you by telling you being critical of the things around you is the same as playing the victim. If you're questioning things, you are no body's victim.

Listening to the radio frequently makes me angry.

I heard a radio DJ today, whom i have previously heard spout all kinds of judeo christian bullshit on her mainstream radio station show, was talking about Tyler the Creator’s win.

All she had to say about it was that he was a “Satan Worshipper”, then the other host called her out on her bullshit and she said “okay, he’s not an actual satan worshiper, but he says bad things about god”.

That’s seriously your only critique?

I mean, he describes violent acts against women, both sexual and otherwise.

He says fucked up misogynistic shit to people whenever he feels like it (see his statement to tegan and sara).

He benefits more from rape culture than Chris Brown does, but because he’s not faux-christian like the rest of the hip hop community pretends to be (specifically when accepting awards), that’s your only critique?

Wow. Just. Wow.

why do people think anyone cares when they unfollow? I mean, if I cared, I would follow you back by now. And why do straight people think anyone cares if their blogs or language are inaccessible to them?

If i knew these answers, i would share them with the world.
